THE HOLLOWS is a cave exploration virtual reality game for the HTC Vive. You collect crystals to stay charged up and keep Shadows from ruining your day. Navigate the mysterious caverns in search of a fabled treasure known as "The Constellation" Made at Hampshire College by a team of students from Ira Fay's Virtual Reality Lab class in the Spring semester of 2017.

WHERE WE ARE AND WHERE WE WOULD GO

The game is in a highly playable state with all the crucial components included. You can climb walls, avoid the enemies, shoot the rope/node gun to add more climbing options. You can pick up crystals that emit light and you are directed to navigate the cave system by level design and proceed to the end condition which is locating the Constellation treasure. The game could use polish of graphic asset implementation and some additional mechanics such as different crystal types that do different things

and a jumping system.

ADVICE AND LESSONS LEARNED

Generate placeholder graphics as quickly as possible if level design is a significant portion of your game design. Communication is key. Make sure questions, announcements, and concerns get said in front of the whole team. Know when to stop implementing and start refining.
